EEAS Southeast Asia Briefing 3: "The Crisis in Thailand in Long-term Perspective", European External Action Service, Brussels

On 18 February 2016, SEATIDE members gathered at the European External Actions Service (EEAS), Brussels, for Southeast Asia Briefing 3 on “The Crisis in Thailand in Long-term Perspective’”.

The event, which was co-organized by Ranieri Sabatucci, head of the EEAS Southeast Asia division, the EFEO and the University of Chiang Mai focused on research conducted within the framework of SEATIDE’s Work Package 5, “National and transnational political integration and the role of ASEAN”.

The following presentations were delivered:

  • The Seven Ages of Man: Policy Options for A Rapidly Ageing Asian Society, Andrew Gibbs (Henderson Rowe, London)
  • The Refugee Crisis on Thailand's Borders, Chayan Vaddhanaphuti (Chiang Mai University)
