Brief bio :
Manoj Potapohn, a lecturer at CMU Faculty of Economics, is drawn into SEA integration from fieldwork and socioeconomic points of view. He was with development bank, NGO and a newspaper prior to joining the academia, was Asian Development Bank & Government of Japan scholar while in graduate school at University of Hawaii at Manoa received Agricultural & Resource Economics Ph.D in 2005 from a research that assessed the impacts of water reallocation in an irrigation system that straddles across ethnic boundary.
Individual Project :

Manoj Patapohn and Olivier Evrard, together with several students of Chiang Mai University, have continued to conduct research on trekking tourism in several ethnic villages north of Chiang Mai. The fieldwork has focused on the organization of the trekking industry at the district level and on its economic impact. Special attention has been given to the rise, development and/or collapse of tourist destinations, and a Master’s dissertation is in preparation on this subject by one of the students of the team, Ms Karnrawee Stratongno.
