Sunil Amrith (Dr.) is a Associate Research Fellow of the Centre for History and Ecomomics and senior lecturer in history at Birkbeck College, London. His research is on the history of migration, cultural interaction, and environmental change around the Bay of Bengal region. He has published widely on India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. His books are Migration and Diaspora in Modern Asia (2011) and Decolonizing International Health: India and Southeast Asia, 1930-65 (2006).
